Mrs. Elizabeth Rogers Simonds' 101st Birthday

It was a Drive-By Celebration for Mrs. Elizabeth Rogers Simonds' 101st Birthday Sat. Jan. 9, 2021 @ 1:30 pm at the Pee Dee Gardens, located at 3117 West Palmetto Street.

Elizabeth Ann Rogers was born in Timmonsville, SC  to Sam and Lucy Rogers on January 9, 1920.

After graduating from Brockington High School, she left SC in 1942 and sought employment in the New York Area.  Her first few jobs were  not fulfilling, and therefore she enrolled in clerical night classes. This career began with employment in a doctor's office and continued to Montefiore Hospital Medical Center where she retired in 1981 as a key punch operator and coding clerk.

In 1951, Ms. Rogers married William "Bill Simonds and was widowed in 2001. She relocated back to Timmonsville in 2014 with her brother and sister, both now deceased. Ms. Simonds resides at Pee Dee Gardens, Florence. Her local next of kin includes two nieces, Audrey Gilbert and Doris (Dee) Salters.

Even with the pandemic, Elizabeth Ann Rogers Simonds considers 2020 a good year because of her 100th birthday and voting in the 2020 presidential election at the age of 100. She gives God the glory for her life and longevity.
