Flamingo Mammories Kicks Off for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Flamingos are flocking to MUSC Health Florence Medical Center and MUSC Health Marion Medical Center to raise awareness as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) and raise funds for the MUSC Foundation – Florence Division Oncology Fund. The flamingos will be placed on the front lawn all month long to honor breast cancer survivors, patients or loved ones affected by breast cancer. Flamingos will be labeled with the honoree/s name.

The funds raised for the MUSC Foundation - Florence Division Oncology Fund benefits patients undergoing cancer treatment and in need of assistance.

According to the American Cancer Society (ACS) breast cancer is the most common cancer in American women, except for skin cancers. This means there is a 1 in 8 chance of developing breast cancer.
