Virtual Breaking Free Race Begins October 1st
It’s time to RACE! Pee Dee Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Assault will host its 10th Annual Breaking Free Race Friday in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month!
Last year was the first time this event was held virtually, and they had such a great turnout that they decided to do it virtually again this year. This gives the opportunity to race for the ENTIRE month of October, and it helps to include participants from all over!
Join the 30 miles in 1 Month Challenge or the Longest Distance Challenge, and compete as an individual or a team of up to four!
Pamplico Cypress Festival
The Pamplico Cypress Festival is October 1, 2021 at 6:00PM. Held annually on Main Street, this family event, which was initiated in 2005, is sponsored by the Town and coordinated by the Cypress Festival Committee that is appointed by Town Council and comprised of many dedicated community volunteers. The recent festivals have featured classic car shows, amusement rides, arts and crafts and food vendors, local musical talents, beauty pageants, street dances, and plenty of hometown fellowship.
Sweet Potato Festival
Mark your calendarS for October 9, 2021, and join us for the 38th Annual SC Sweet Potato Festival, Downtown on the Square. The longest-running festival in Darlington County, the South Carolina Sweet Potato Festival now attracts audiences of more 27,000 people. The daylong extravaganza includes children's games, crafts, music, live entertainment, a car show and plenty of food, including sweet potato pie! Folks have been packing the festival for a day of family fun since 1983. The event honors the vital role sweet potatoes play in the economy of the Pee Dee.
Gospel In the Park Series Finale
Gospel in the Park Series returns with its finale for 2021. Sunday October 3, 4pm until 7pm in Pride Park 630 S 6th Street. Thanking all our wonderful sponsors and supporters. Theme: Bringing Unity into our Community ! During the month of October we will bring resource information about Breast Cancer/Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Devotional services will be render by Pastor John Williams and The Flat Creek Baptist Church, Darlington SC. Live Free Entertainment by , The Sonoco Men Choir, Derrick Bull and Remnant Nation, Jarvis Jett, Sequoia Sunshine Jordan , The Singing Angels and more. We will follow the CDC guidelines for outside events. Bring your lawn chairs and a open heart. Furman Advantage Network (FAN) Club Launch Party - Florence
Join the Office of Alumni and Parent Engagement as we launch the Furman Advantage Network (FAN) Club in Florence, SC. The FAN Club's purpose is to engage life-long members who are interested in building and cultivating the Furman community in Florence in order to enhance a sense of tradition, affiliation and pride. The goal is to strengthen your relationship with the life of the University while providing opportunities for you to participate in programs that encourage professional and social networking.

The Sisterhood of Mt Olive Word of Life in association with The Butler Heritage Foundation Health Initiative , Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Program is set for Saturday October 16, 11am until 2pm at The Butler Heritage Foundation 1103 S 6th Street We’re fighting cancer together .
