**Obituary Rosa Spears**

Mrs. Rosa Lee Townsend Spears, daughter of the late Jake Townsend and Annie Green Townsend was born July 6, 1948 in Florence, South Carolina. She departed this life on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.

Rosa attended the Public Schools of Florence County and Paine College in Augusta, Georgia, where she received a Degree in Business Administration.

Rosa was employed with Attorney Mordeci Johnson until his demise then she joined the team at Florence Legal Services.

At an early age, Rosa professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Greater Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, in Claussen Community, where she was a dedicated member. During the last decade she served faithfully as a member of Majority Missionary Baptist Church in Florence, South Carolina and held the position of Financial Secretary.

Rosa enjoyed organizing gatherings and spending time with family and friends.

In 1978, Rosa was united in holy matrimony to John F. Spears, her devoted husband.

Rosa’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband, John F. Spears; a daughter, Phalonia Nicole “Nikki” Mobley; a stepson, Johnathan Ryan Spears; a stepdaughter, Beverly Hicks; a son-in-law, Jerry Arnaz Mobley; four grandchildren, Rashad Spears, Jerry Mobley, Jr., Sandra Mobley and Jaquesha Adams; three great grandchildren, Arianna Nicole Spears, Kaiden Mobley, and Zoey Campbell; three sisters, Roberta (Maxie) McCants, Harriet (George) Briggs, and Julia (Jackie) Delaine; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Rosa Lee Townsend Spears will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

**Obituary Jeffery Vanderhall**

Mr. Jeffrey Lomomt “Jeff” Vanderhall, the son of Teresa Townsend Vanderhall and the late Thomas Jefferson Vanderhall was born September 11, 1987 in Marion, South Carolina. He departed this earthly life on Monday, June 7, 2021.

Jeffrey attended Florence School District One Elementary and Middle Schools and was a proud Class of 2006 South Florence High School graduate.

Jeffrey was affiliated with Greater Tabernacle Baptist Church in Florence, South Carolina for a number of years.

To know “”Jeff” as he was affectionately called, was to love him dearly: a loving son, fabulous brother, jokester, a true friend and just an all-around great guy. He would charm you with his beautiful smile and dazzle you with his happy go lucky smile. His love for all people was amazing.

Jeffrey was employed with Horne’s Restaurant until his health declined.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Jefferson Vander; his maternal grandparents; and his paternal grandparents.

Jeffrey leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving mother, Teresa Vanderhall of Florence, South Carolina; a brother, Thomas Vanderhall of Florence, South Carolina; two sisters, LaKeisha Townsend of Atlanta, Georgia and Delvin Townsend of Fuqua, North Carolina; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

**Obituary Mr. Eddie Greene**

Mr. Eddie Greene was born on March 12, 1941, in Florence, S.C to the late Edward and Lizzie Mae Greene. He departed this earthly life into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, June 03, 2021.

Mr. Greene attended Florence Public Schools and dedicated his entire work path to cooking and farming fresh produce for all to enjoy. Mr. Greene was a prominent local supplier of fresh fruit and vegetables in the Pee Dee Area until his health declined. He was also infamous for his BBQ hog, smoked turkey, and his unmatched BBQ sauce.

Mr. Greene was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Mars Bluff, SC.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lizzie Green.

Those he leaves to cherish his precious memories are a host of siblings, children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the transition of Ms. Ida Mae Wheeler Gregg, widow of Mr. Robert Gregg. Ms. Gregg passed on Thursday, June 3, 2021 in a Florence hospital following an illness.

Funeral service is 1:00pm on Thursday, June 10, 2021 in Faith Memorial Gardens. Interment will follow.

**Obituary Mrs. Ida Mae Gregg**

Mrs. Ida Mae Gregg was born in Darlington, South Carolina on February 3, 1953 a son of Claretha Jackson Murphy and the late Albert McElveen. She departed this life on Thursday, June 3, 2021 in McLeod Regional Medical Center after an illness.

She received her formal education in the Darlington County Public Schools.

She was a member of St. Luke Pentecostal Powerhouse of Truth Church in Darlington, SC.

She lived most of her life in Darlington where she was a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for most of her life.

Ida was united in marriage to the late Robert Lee Gregg, Sr. This union was blessed with three children. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and family member. She will be truly missed by all.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her mother, Claretha Murphy of Darlington, SC; her daughter, Clarise (Lucius) Zimmerman of Darlington, SC; two sons: Robert Lee Gregg, Jr. (Shirley) of Timmonsville, SC and Thomas J. Gregg of the home; 4 grandchildren: Ida Lee Gregg, Janell Gregg, Shawnell Gregg; 10 great grandchildren: Isaiah, Ivory, Za’Mairon, Ja’Mairon, Zykira, Amiracle, Alissia, Aurbriel, Azai and Ashanti; three sisters: Vivian (Johnny) Stephens, Janie Jackson and Mary (Melvin) Covington all of Darlington, SC; a brother, James Jackson of Darlington, SC; a brother-in-law, Sylvester Gregg of Darlington, SC; two sisters: Christine Gregg and Ella Mae Gregg both of Darlington, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A best friend, Henrietta Dubose.
She was preceded in death by her grandson that she raised, Christopher Gregg.

**Obituary Herbert Hines**

Mr. Herbert Lee “Terry” Hines was born May 10, 1961 in Darlington, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Willie, Sr. and Roceda J. Hines. He departed this life on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at the age of 60.

“Terry” as he was affectionately called by all who knew and loved him, attended the Public Schools of Darlington and Florence, South Carolina. He was employed by New York Carpet World for a few years and later became Self Employed. He was good with the skills of work ethics and was sure all that he did was professional.

Herbert was a member of Glorious Apostolic Church under the leadership of Pastor Roceda Hines and later Bishop Joseph Hines. He was a loving brother, full of laughter, devoted father, grandfather, uncle indeed, and a friend to all.

Herbert leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Pearlie M. Hines; three daughters, Pretoria N. Hines of Florence, South Carolina, Laterria Hines of Lake City, South Carolina and Ashley Louise Hines of Florence, South Carolina; three granddaughters, Aaliyah Monae Hines, Cadence Arianna Hines, and Kennedy Autumn Knowlin; seven brothers, Willie Hines, Richard Hines, Bishop Joseph Hines (Linda), Robert Hines, Elijah Hines (Tracy) Dupree of Bristol, Philadelphia, David Hines, and Jordan Hines; seven sisters, Francena (Isaiah) Brockington, Lurlia “Addie” Singletary, Rose Marie (Eddie) Thomas, Mary (Phillip) Brockington, Queen (Abraham) Wallace, Lottie (Jimmy) Walker, and Evangelist Easter Mae (Tyler) Capers; one aunt, Ida Joe; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
