Although her chosen profession is in the field of medicine, it is only a portion of the way Linda has chosen to dedicate herself to a life of service. As a young adult, Linda Parnell wrote several plays focused on real life situations. Linda’s first short film entitled “Abducted” premiered in 2018 and caught the attention of the director of Florence County Pee Dee Coalition. Linda was very excited when she approached her with the idea of writing a film centered around the dangers of domestic violence.
Linda took on the challenged and co-wrote her latest film, “Take A Stan.” The 96 minute thriller, which is based on true life events, originally premiered in Durham, North Carolina followed by a Florence South Carolina premier. It was released on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 by Maverick Entertainment.
Ms. Parnell is the mother of a teenage daughter who enjoyed acting throughout her high school years. Her talents were very noteworthy in the films that her mother wrote. It also gave mother and daughter an opportunity to work together while sending impactful caring messages through the films.

The films’ storyline is recorded on the Maverick Entertainment website as follows: “Lisa James, a Sociology Professor, escapes her husband, Stan, and seeks refuge with one of her students. How long will it take before Stan finds out where she has been hiding?”
“Take A Stan” was released on several “Transactional Video on Demand” platforms including: Hoopla, Amazon, VUDU, TUBI, and FandangoNow on Tuesday. It is being scheduled for release on additional platforms.
