Benedict's Green Named To HBCU All-Star Game

NEW ORLEANS – Benedict senior forward Tajh Green was invited to participate in the first HBCU All-Star Game, which was played on Sunday, April 3, 2022.

Green, the SIAC Player of the Year, is one of 24 players from HBCUs across the country invited to participate. Green averaged 14.1 points and 7.6 rebounds per game, while shooting .465 from the floor and .719 from the free-throw line. He helped lead the Tigers to a 22-7 record, advancing to the championship game of the SIAC Tournament.
"The 24 players that have been selected represent the best in college basketball at our country's prestigious black colleges and universities. Our HBCU All-Stars national scouting staff did an amazing job for the past three months evaluating some of the most talented players from the 48 HBCUs." said HBCU All-Stars LLC Founder and CEO Travis L. Williams.

Benedict Sweeps SIAC Track & Field Weekly Honors

Kevin Francis and Eilika Lane of Benedict College, were named this week's men and women Track Performers of the Week, alongside Chase Ransom and Kyra Buffen of Benedict College, who collected this week's men and women Field Performers of the Week honor. Women's Track and Field

Track Performer of the Week – Eilika Lane was the SIAC's top women's performer this week, running the fastest times in the 400 meters and the 400 meter hurdles.

Field Performer of the Week – Kyra Buffen set a personal best in the long jump, with a distance of 5.65 meters. It was the farthest jump over the weekend and it moved Buffen up to No. 2 in the SIAC for the long jump.

Men's Track and Field Track Performer of the Week – Kevin Francis set a new personal best in the 100 meter hurdles during this week's meet, with a time of 15.12.

Field Performer of the Week – Chase Ransom set a personal best in the discus throw, with a throw of 44.39 meters (145 ft, 8 inches). Francis is now ranked No. 1 in the SIAC, in both the discus throw and shot put.
