This week I shall utilize my writing space to provide you with an overview of one of the candidates running for state Superintendant.

Dr. Gary Burgess is by far the most outstanding, and I don’t say that because he is black, but because he is the antithesis of what we should want in a State Superintendent of Schools.

Dr. Burgess has served in all capacities leading up to becoming a good Superintendent. We have the chance to work hard and try to put someone into the office who is not just some political wanna-be. Someone recently sent me a copy of his platform, and it seemed to spell out all the areas that are lacking, and need someone of good character to step in and provide us the type of leadership we need.

Dr. Burgess is a strong family man with an uncanny understanding of what is required to make us, in South Carolina, a strong and effective school system. We were majorly impressed by his assertion that teachers are the beginning of building a sustainable foundation for learning, and then moving on to restore integrity and trust into a system that has talked a lot about what we need but has not done very much along the lines of adding strong, effective leadership.

If you have not heard of Dr. Burgess yet, we encourage you to get a hold of his outlined agenda. Should he be elected to the office of State Superintendent? Never has there been such a dynamic person with the background that Dr. Burgess has be available to run for the office. One who truly seems willing to put the children first. We encourage you to lean your support to getting Dr. Burgess elected. The right man for the job at the right time.

Sincerely Yours,

Make your vote count.
