**The 28th Annual Horry County Museum Quilt Gala**

Join us for the 28th Annual Quilt Gala at the Horry County Museum March 1st through the 24th! This year, the Museum will display quilts made by the Myrtle Beach Shorebirds and Conway Quilts of Valor groups. Each week, new quilts will be on display that will be awarded to local veterans in a special ceremony on Saturdays at 1 PM. The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation (QOVF) is to cover all service members and veterans, touched by war, with a comforting and healing quilt. Since 2003, the foundation, now a national organization, has awarded nearly 300,000 quilts across the US.

In addition to the quilts on display, there will be a variety of programming at the Museum and Farm throughout the month of March. Scheduled programs include the History of Quilts of Valor, featured quilters, mini trunk shows, and indigo and embroidery workshops! Participants will also have the chance to win door prizes at each program!

Visit the Museum’s website at www.horrycountymuseum.org for a complete list of events. Also, when you visit the Museum, be sure to say ‘thank you’ to our veterans by decorating a quilt square that can be sewn into a local Quilts of Valor quilt.
For more information about the 28th Annual Quilt Gala, contact the Horry County Museum at 843-915-5320, e-mail hcgmuseum@horrycounty.org, or visit our website at www.horrycountymuseum.org.
