Florence Announces The first Meeting Of The Florence Sustainability And Resilience Advisory Committee

The City of Florence announces the first meeting of the Florence Sustainability and Resilience Advisory Committee, this committee was formed at the recommendation of New Alpha Community Development Corporation and the Whitney M. Slater Foundation.

Recommendations that the city forms with the Sustainability and Resiliency committee so that issues of climate change can be addressed and that federal funding and state funding be utilized to present the city as a leader in adaptation, mitigation, and resilience. The Advisory Commission will work with the City of Florence redevelopment corporation, which currently has a budget of over $1 million dollars. The first meeting with the Advisory Commission will be proceeded by a tree-planting ceremony led by New Alpha Community Development Corporation.
